Custom-made wooden stationery organiser
The customer wanted something special — a practical yet unique wooden stationery organiser that would not look mass-produced. The result was an individual handcrafted piece in which the natural form, texture and grain of the wood became the main design feature.
Sometimes the most interesting projects begin not with a finished product, but with a customer’s wish for something that simply cannot be found in a shop.
At the start of this project, the customer approached us with the idea of making a special wooden stationery organiser — a practical desk accessory that would also be a unique interior accent. The main concept was to create an item with a strong natural wood character, preserving the material’s form, texture and one-of-a-kind grain.
From an idea to an individual design
Instead of making a classic, geometrically precise office organiser, we chose to let the wood itself determine the character of the piece.
Every detail was selected and worked individually, preserving natural wood edges, forms, variations in colour and texture. The result was a composition with several storage spaces for stationery and a central drawer for small items.
The drawer was finished with a decorative metal handle that works well with the expressive wood structure and gives the piece a slightly classic character.
Handcrafting in every detail
Custom wooden products of this kind require considerably more manual work than mass-produced items.
First, the most suitable pieces of wood were selected. Each was then cut and adapted to the overall construction. Particular attention was paid to preserving the natural appearance of the material while ensuring that the organiser would be stable and convenient for everyday use.
The details were carefully sanded and fitted together to create one coherent composition. Because natural wood is never completely identical, a piece like this cannot be reproduced exactly — every subsequent item will have its own form, pattern and character.
A practical object with its own character
The centre of the finished piece contains a spacious drawer for storing small items, while the side compartments are intended for pens, pencils, scissors and other stationery.
But this is more than a wooden desk organiser. It is also a decorative object that becomes a noticeable interior feature on a desk.
The natural wood texture, irregular edges and unique grain of every detail make this piece one of a kind.
